Alpiniå Labs Natural Laundry Detergent is a 5x-concentrated laundry powder built around six targeted enzyme classes: protease, amylase, lipase, mannanase, pectate-lyase, and cellulase. Most natural laundry detergents contain only one or two enzyme classes. Each enzyme breaks down a specific category of soil, and they are not interchangeable — protease cannot do lipase's job — which is why this formula uses six.

Protease breaks down protein-based stains such as blood, sweat, grass, and dairy. Amylase targets starch, food residue, and baby formula. Lipase breaks lipid bonds so cooking oils, butter, and grease rinse out instead of building up on fabric over time. Mannanase targets guar gum and the thickeners found in processed foods. Pectate-lyase, rare in consumer laundry detergent, breaks down pectin-based stains including fruit, tomato, berry, wine, and baby food, and remains active in cold water where most enzymes underperform. Cellulase, also rare, lifts plant fiber and vegetable residue while smoothing pilling and restoring brightness without optical brighteners.

The formula includes sodium gluconate, a chelator that binds calcium and magnesium in hard water so cleaning agents can work as intended. It is built into the base formula at standard dosing, so no booster, water softener, or scoop adjustment is required in hard-water areas. Most natural detergents leave hard water for the customer to solve.

The detergent contains no microplastics and no PVA film. It is a loose concentrated powder rather than a pod or dissolvable sheet, both of which commonly use polyvinyl alcohol film that does not reliably fully biodegrade in wastewater treatment. It contains no optical brighteners — the fluorescent dyes that remain on fabric and make it appear whiter under light without removing anything.

Full ingredient list: Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Saponified Coconut Oil, Borax, Dead Sea Salt, Chicory Root Extract, plant-derived biodegradable nonionic surfactants, TAED, Sodium Gluconate, Alpiniå Signature Enzyme Blend (Protease, Amylase, Lipase, Mannanase, Pectate-Lyase, Cellulase), and terpene-based botanical fragrance (paraben- and phthalate-free).

Available in five scents that share the identical cleaning formula: Unscented (no fragrance component at all), Florida Jasmine (light, floral, warm), Orange Blossom (bright citrus with a soft floral edge), Woodsage Sea Salt (coastal, herbaceous, gender-neutral), and Pure Lemon (clean, zesty, classic). All scented versions use terpene-based botanical fragrance with no synthetic carriers, and fade to a barely-there clean scent after drying.

Dosing: one tablespoon for a regular load, 1.5 tablespoons for a large load, and 2 tablespoons for heavy soil. No increase is needed in hard water. Sprinkle powder directly into the drum before adding laundry. Sizes: 20 oz (approximately 40 washes), 5 lb (approximately 160 washes), and 10 lb (approximately 320 washes).

Safe for HE and front-loading machines as well as standard top-loaders — it is a low-foam formula. Cold-water safe. Suitable for sensitive skin; the Unscented variant contains no fragrance component and is the most conservative choice for eczema-prone, dermatitis-prone, or fragrance-sensitive skin, and for infants.
